CITIC-CBMM Microalloying Technology Center Annual Meeting & CITIC-CBMM R&D Project
On March 21st - 22nd, CITIC-CBMM Microalloying Technology Center Annual Meeting & CITIC-CBMM R&D Project Reporting Meeting was held ceremoniously in Yuyang Hotel Beijing. There were three invited reports and 29 special reports, including 12 concluding reports, 10 interim reports and 7 opening reports. At the meeting, director Zheng Yali, an expert from China Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and China Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance for Electric Vehicle (CAEV), made an invited report on the development of new energy vehicles and the application prospect of niobium-bearing materials in China, and two experts from CBMM made invited reports on the application of niobium in long materials and some typical cases of global application of niobium respectively. More than 250 leaders, experts and scholars at home and abroad from steel companies, automotive industry, energy, transportation and construction sectors, such as Baowu Group., Angang Steel Company Limited, Beijing Shougang Co., Ltd., Ma’anshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., Kunming Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Guangxi Liuzhou Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., Anyang Iron & Steel Inc., SGIS Songshan Co.,Ltd., gathered in Beijing to exchange and discuss the latest research and application results of niobium microalloying technology in automotive steel, pipeline steel, structural steel, stainless steel, casting and high temperature alloy, with focus on China’s steel industry transformation & upgrading strategy and path, so as to jointly promote the high quality development of the steel industry.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Guo Aimin, deputy general manager & chief engineer of CITIC Metal Co., Ltd., while Wu Xianwen, chairman of CITIC Metal Co., Ltd., delivered a welcome speech on behalf of CITIC Metal. In his speech, he thanked the leaders and experts at home and abroad for their strong support to the scientific and technological development of niobium in China over the years, and put forward that under the macro situation that China's economy has shifted from the stage of high-speed growth to the stage of high-quality development, the steel industry and the downstream industries are also in an important period of opportunity, and how to fully understand and grasp this important period of opportunity for development is thus a common issue that we have to face. 2019 marks the 40th anniversary of international cooperation on niobium microalloying technology between China and Brazil. Citic Metal is willing to take this opportunity with CBMM to further strengthen cooperation with everyone, continue to promote technological innovation in China's steel industry and downstream manufacturing industry, set up “industry-university-research-application” industrial chain cooperation platform and, work together for China's dream of becoming a great power, guided by the national strategy.
Tian Zhiling, deputy general manager of China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group, Wang Xinjiang, vice president & secretary-general of The Chinese Society for Metals, Mao Xinping, deputy director of Baosteel Central Research Institute/academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Liu Yi, vice president of China Steel Construction Society, Liu Fuxing, executive vice president of Stainless Steel Branch of China Special Steel Enterprises Association, Zhang Ning, special secretary-general of China Society of Automotive Engineers, Tan Naifen, deputy secretary-general of China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, Jiang Shangqing, deputy director of Department of Development, Technology and Environmental Protection, China Iron & Steel Association, Rafael Mesquita, chief technology officer of CBMM, Marcos Stuart, former CTO of CBMM, Liu Yanlong, general manager of Citic Metal , Wang Meng, deputy general manager of Citic Metal, and other experts and leaders were present at the meeting.
2018 CITIC-CBMM Nb-Steel Excellent Papers Award Ceremony was held at the same time. Mr. Fu Junyan, senior consultant of CITIC Microalloying Technology Center, announced the list of winners, and the leaders presented honorary certificates to the winners.
Mr.Guo Aimin, deputy general manager of Citic Metal & executive deputy director of CITIC Microalloying Technology Center, on behalf of the Center, delivered the annual work report. He introduced the work of the Center in the past year, the achievements made in cooperation with upstream and downstream companies, and the work plan for the next year. Participants believe that CITIC-CBMM's R&D project represents the cutting edge of China's niobium microalloying technology, which can effectively promote the high-quality development of China’s steel, automobile, pipeline, energy, bridge, construction and other downstream industries and the process of “Made in China 2025”.
